ECG Robotics, Inc. is a non-profit robotics club which was created by the Early College at Guilford High School. We are made up of 1 FRC team: 1533 Triple Strange and 4 FTC teams: 731 Wannabee Strange, 5795 Back to the Drawing Board, 6183 Thunder Ducks, and 10195 Night Owls that follow the FIRST robotics programs. We are a community based team and accept students from all over Guilford County. The organization began in 2004 with one FRC team and we have continued to grow in the FIRST Family. Our main goal is to excite students about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math and encourage them to spread the word into the community.
With all of the points that Triple Strange had earned through the District Events and the State Championship, they earned a spot to play at the World Championships in Houston, Texas on April 19-22.
731 was selected to join the fourth place alliance for the Pemberton Division semi-finals and lost in the semi-finals to the finalist team for the overall tournament. However, through rankings, they were able to advance to the FTC World Championship in Houston, Texas.
5795 received the second place Inspire Award for the Southern Region, won the Rockwell Collins Innovate Award, and placed third in the Motivate award category, earning a spot at the World Championship in Houston, Texas.
To promote interest in and knowledge of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) principles throughout Guilford County, NC schools and the communities they serve, and to develop leadership, business, teamwork, communication and other life skills. We seek to develop these skills through team membership, outreach opportunities, critical thinking, public speaking and unique experiences, promoting full participation in all aspects of the club by all members
