FRC/FTC – ALL STUDENTS

FRC

Road to Houston

Thank you to all the awesome people who have donated money on the GoFundMe page.

We are continuing to raise money for the students to help lower their cost.

Please go to the GofundMe campaign page: https://funds.gofundme.com/dashboard/triplestrange1533

We will be setting up a whatsapp for the mentors, students, parents going and the parents of those students going. This will be the best way to communicate with each other and alleviate a lot of posts for others not attending.

We will provide match schedules and livestream for those of you at home to follow along. The regular whatsapp will still be active  for those to cheer on from North Carolina. We will give daily updates on whatsapp and google group on how the team is doing.

All Houston Worlds information will be sent to those going through separate email group. Address any questions to Laura at lada7042@gmail.com

Thank you to Qualcomm, a NCFIRST state sponsor, they are covering the $5000 registration fee for FRC team 1533 Triple Strange and the 14 North Carolina teams that qualified for Worlds.

This past week we changed the button pushers so that they could extend put further as well as make the entire structure allow the upcoming modules to fit on our robot. For this next week we are going to get our modules on our robot as they are almost on their way to being finished printing. With the robot being fully assembled early this week we plan on tuning our autonomous to it where leaps and bounds have been made on the test robot with the addition of motion profiling which dramatically lowers the uncertainty when traveling a distance in autonomous that we had when using encoders and PID. It also removes the oscillation time that comes with the P value of PID so that the entire motion is a clean smooth motion. During the process of autonomous testing we hope to fit in Interview practice as well as driving practice so our drivers can get used to all the new changes.

Over the past three weeks we’ve tried to optimize our robot. We’ve increased the size of the surgical tubing on the intake, worked on perfecting the reflector we prototypes at the South Super Regional tournament, fixed some of the problems we had with the linear slide by using grip tape and re-drilling tighter fit holes, and also developed a second button pusher that will help the drivers press buttons easier during the endgame. This week we plan on getting as much auto testing and drive practice as possible. Thanks.

End of Season Banquet

Please mark your calendar for May 5th at 7pm for the end of season banquet and celebration. It will be at First Lutheran Church. Staci Bensel will be coordinating the event with the students and look for more details coming later.

ECG Robotics Canned Food Drive

Hi, all. Please remember that the ECG Robotics Canned Food Drive is still in progress and that your team can win the competition over the next quarter. I would like to set a goal of collecting at least 100 more cans before the end of the month.

Greensboro Science Center Science Fest

Thank you ECG Robotics students for coming to volunteer at the GSC Science Fest as part of the month long North Carolina Science Festival. You all did a great job learning how to run each of the different stations and the kids had a lot of fun building and playing with you. And of course Scorpius was a big hit and the FTC students got to learn how to drive. Thank you Mark Adamonis, Brendan Shoemaker, Advika Kumar, Rohan Akki, Kara Yang, Dalal Ahmidouch, Michael Fei, Ammar Puri, Noah Piraino

TREASURY

Thank you

ECG Robotics has the best, most awesome parents, friends, and sponsors.

All the teams that went to FTC Super Regionals and those FTC and FRC teams going to worlds have received donations and additional funding. But this wouldn’t be possible without parents reaching out to employers and local businesses for these donations. Thank you.

Parent Volunteers Needed

With the growth of  ECG Robotics we are in desperate need of parent volunteers to help mentor the fundraising. Responsibilities include typing up documents, filling out grant paperwork, assisting students with writing letters to sponsors.
